Transport Team

Transport Team members use their personal vehicles to drive girls and women from Oakland to Brown Girl Surf programs at the beach in Half Moon Bay or Marin. Once at the beach, transport team members can either relax on their own and meet us at the end of the program day, OR help with on-land supervision, logistics, and activities during the program day. (Please note, transport team members do not get in the water during program days.  If you would like to volunteer with water-based activities, check out our Volunteer Surf Instructor program.) Most programs take place on Saturdays during the school year and weekdays during the summer. 

Requirements:

  • Team members must have a currently registered vehicle, drivers license, and be willing to transport girls and women in the Brown Girl Surf community. 
  • Team members must have an interest in working with adolescent girls and women.  Preference is given to applicants who have experience  working with the communities we serve.  Youth development experience is a plus but not required.

Training Path:

Team members who plan to join us for the program are encouraged to attend a day-long Brown Girl Surf volunteer training, but this is not required.
